Should I dye completely or parts first?

First off, I'm asian. I've dyed my hair and bleached it and all that before. This time I wanna dye it red. I bought beyond bleach and manic panic vampire red from hottopic. I was thinkin I was gonna do the bottom half of my hair first then when schools almost in I was gonna do the rest. Should I do this? Or dye the whole thing? Or jus wait till schools almost in and dye it then? Pics and experience stories are appriciated :)
