What should I do about a random salesperson in a store asking to take my daughter's picture?

I was out shopping with my daughter (14-months old) at a Sam's Club. As usual, they have a few vendors from other companies with booths set up to try to sell their products. One of these interested me so I stopped to look at the information available. As I was talking to one salesperson the other salesperson was looking at my daughter who was sitting in the shopping cart. After I finished talking to my salesperson the other one who had been looking at my daughter asked me if she was a boy or a girl. When I responded that she was a girl he asked me if he could take a picture of her. I was kind of taken aback, and mumbled something like, "Um, I guess." He said his wife was pregnant and was always asking him to take pictures of kids and send them to her. It felt really weird, and afterwards I was quite annoyed and concerned. It was just too odd. I tried to call the 800 number for the company he was employed by, but only got voicemail. I'm tempted to contact the Sam's Club and report it, but I am not sure that's enough. Call it woman's intuition, but something just doesn't feel right and now I'm concerned and wishing that I had more presence of mind when he asked to just say no. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does this all sound too odd? What would you do?
